Time

We tried to out fly the night
Chasing a sunset we could not catch
As darkness pursued us from the East
And for a moment
Far above the clouds
We floated, a spec caught
In the incandescent, brilliant
drama of crimson and azure
and clouds pulsing with an inner fire
Then we were overtaken
By obscurity.
